Terri Irwin has unveiled a dramatic hair transformation in a new family photo.

The 58-year-old conservationist was the wife of the late Steve Irwin, the beloved Australian crocodile hunter who tragically died in 2006 aged 44 after being pierced in the heart by a stingray barb.

He had been filming a documentary called Ocean's Deadliest in Queensland's Great Barrier Reef, per Discovery, and had reportedly been snorkeling during a break in filming, hoping to get some footage for his daughter Bindi's show, Bindi the Jungle Girl.

He was survived by Terri, daughter Bindi, and son Robert, who last week were taking part in a photoshoot for The Explorers Club Annual Dinner (ECAD) in New York. It was at this event that Bindi, 24, was honored with the President's Award for Conservation.

Terri looked fresh and stylish with her trademark blonde locks having been dyed a new darker brown color, posing alongside Bindi and her other child Robert, 19, for a family portrait at the event.

Taking to Twitter after the event, Terri retweeted the sweet family photo with a heartfelt message that read: "Congratulations @BindiIrwin! A well-deserved award for all your work to protect wildlife and wild places."

In the photo, the trio - who spend their days working with animals at Queensland's famous Australia Zoo - had ditched their trademark khakis for more sleek outfits. Bindi was sporting a tailored black blazer and a high-waisted ankle-length floral skirt with pointed-toe pumps, while Robert looked dapper in an all-black suit.

"Here's to dedicating our lives to protecting, exploring and creating change for our Mother Earth. Thank you ECAD for the President's Award for Conservation and congratulations to the extraordinary awardees," Bindi captioned the same image via Instagram.

Bindi's husband Chandler Powell took to the comments section to send his congratulations to her, writing: "I'm so proud. Congratulations!" The pair share a daughter named Grace Warrior.

The Irwin family has stuck together since the passing of Steve, who is widely regarded as a national hero in Australia. In December last year, Robert turned 19 and received a heartwarming birthday video featuring sweet messages from a host of famous Australian faces, including his late father.

The video was a sweet compilation from various famous Aussie faces - including kids group The Wiggles (complete with Captain Feathersword), Indigenous-Australian singer Christine Anu, dancer and musician Lukas Wildrok, and stunt performers Nitro Circus, among numerous others.

The most tear-jerking clip, however, was a throwback video of Steve at Australia Zoo talking about a then-newborn baby Robert, who is being held by mom Terri. "Hey, how's this," he says in the clip, "I'm at the hospital, and Terri's pushing and pushing, and it's hard. And anyway bang, pop him out, and I've lifted him up and he's a little bloke. And I put him on Terri's chest and we're just stoked. And at that moment, at that very moment, I saw the light."

Earlier this year, Robert - who has a passion for photography - took a trip down memory lane by recreating a photo of himself pretending to drive his dad's car as an infant. "My dad's ute… it's a special car. From early memories when Dad would park and let me pretend to drive, to more recently when I took my drivers test in it (and somehow managed not to stall it)," the caption began.

"I remember my first solo drive in this car after I got my license - it was to the hospital to meet my niece for the first time, right after she was born. And now, the ute still comes on road trips to this day…" Robert added.
