In a new interview on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, the host read a letter penned by the Men in Black star for his wife in response to the release of her memoir.
"I applaud and honor you. If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would’ve hugged you more," Shetty said during a teaser clip from the episode, which is set to be released later today. And this user also chimed in with: "Will Smith is the definition of unconditional love."
The news comes after the actress recently opened up about the unique setup between her and her husband.
Jada shocked fans last week when she admitted that she and her husband had secretly separated for seven years in her new book.
Speaking of the book during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actress stated that she and Will were "still figuring things out," before saying: "We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us."
She also mentioned that her children helped her build her confidence.
"My children, they’re little gurus. They’ve taught me a deep sense of self-acceptance," she told the outlet. "They love every part of me. The level of love, unconditional love that they have for me and their dad. And it's one thing to want to be the person that gives that unconditional love. And then there's, to be the recipient of that."
After dropping the bombshell, Jada elaborated on the couple's set-up during an interview with Hoda Kotb on TODAY.
"First of all, I’m really shocked, because mind you, I’m not there. We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time," she told the host.
When questioned about why they don't get divorced if they have been living separate lives, the answer is that they simply don't want to.
"We don’t want to because we love our family and we love each other," she said. "You know, it’s more of a life partnership. Now 10 years from now, Hoda? Who knows."
When speaking of their separation, she said: "Why it fractured... that - that’s a lot of things... By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.
"I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through... whatever. I just haven't been able to break that promise," she added.
