One woman's had a Secret Santa she will never forget, as it turned out that billionaire Bill Gates was her anonymous gift giver.
Secret Santa - in case you haven't been made to take part at work - is a fun festive game where a group of people all anonymously draw a name and then buy a gift for that person.
Whenever it gets announced at the workplace every year, people are usually divided down the middle with some groaning and others gleefully getting into the Christmas spirit.
Usually, there's a price limit so nobody goes overboard on the gift-giving and puts everyone else to shame - but what happens if your Secret Santa is one of the world's richest men?
Shelby - who wanted her second name to remain anonymous - took part in RedditGifts in 2019, which is run by the popular discussion site, and was shocked when it was revealed that Bill Gates bought her the gifts, she revealed on Reddit.
Reddit confirmed to CNN that Gates does indeed take part in the exchange every year, which Shelby knew, but never in her wildest dreams did she think that he would be her Secret Santa.
Shelby became suspicious when she received a notification saying her package was being overnighted: "I got the alert that it was shipping from Washington, and I said to my husband, ‘Maybe this from Bill Gates,", Shelby explained.
"When I looked in the next morning and saw that it was 81 pounds, I thought, ‘Maybe this actually is from Bill Gates,’" she added.
When Shelby arrived to pick up her package, the staff were incredibly excited to see her and told her that her gift from Gates weighed 81 lbs and it probably wouldn't fit in her car.
Nevertheless, Shelby got the gifts home and that's where she revealed what was inside, as documented by Reddit on Twitter.
The gifts involved an original manuscript of The Great Gatsby that Gates signed himself, alongside other books with Harry Potter memorabilia.
This is amongst toys for her cats, Oreos, and other incredibly useful items like quilts, earrings, and a hammock.
The most touching gift was a donation to the American Heart Association in memory of Shelby's mother who passed away in March of the same year.
"I was very sorry to hear about your mom, and I've made a donation to the American Heart Association in her memory. I hope you and your family find your 'new normal' this holiday season," Gates penned in a card.
This was Shelby's 95th gift exchange and as the old saying goes - 95th times the charm!
