Fans of the hit Netflix series You have a wild theory about who the season four killer really is, and although it sounds far-fetched, there is definitely some logic there.

Spoilers ahead!

The third season of You ended with our protagonist (or antagonist depending on how you look at it) getting the better of his wife Love as he kills her, blows up their house, and frames her for murdering him... Just typical Joe Goldberg really.

After traveling to France to carry on his creepy spying, Joe, played by Penn Badgley, finds himself in London as a university lecturer under the new name of Jonathan Moore.

Season four has a different feel to it than previous seasons due to Joe attempting to put his past behind him and wanting to make an honest man of himself.

Check out the trailer for You:

But when he wakes up with the murdered body of his co-worker Malcolm on his table, it seems like the past is repeating itself and Joe can't escape his murderous ways.

But in a weird twist of events, our American in London turns into a top detective as he tries to find the real killer who also happens to know Joe's real identity.

Dubbed the Eat the Rich killer, Joe's new super-rich friendship group starts getting picked off one by one and he frantically attempts to work out who the killer is, all while protecting the life of his new love interest Kate.

Netflix hasn't allowed viewers to binge the entire season at once, as the first half ended on a cliffhanger after the killer was revealed as Rhys, an author who grew up poor and resents the rich.

Joe and Rhys don't really see eye to eye, and audiences are confused as they are now rooting for the serial killer we've followed in the previous seasons to get the better of the new killer... But is Rhys really the killer?

One TikTok account (@nerdyblonde12) has a wild theory that Joe is still the murderer, but is experiencing a Fight Club-esque twist and Rhys is actually in his imagination.

Joe is handed a copy of Rhys' memoir in the first episode, and the video claims that he has become infatuated with the author.

The theory does appear to have some logic, as whenever Joe is speaking to Rhys it is on a one-to-one basis and nobody ever really sees them interact.

During the climax of the first half of the season, Joe and rich boy Roald are locked in a dungeon that is set on fire by Rhys... But Roald is knocked out and doesn't actually see the author in the building.

Making a prediction for the second half of the series, the TikTok account states: "I think the next five episodes [are] going to be Joe trying to get to Rhys, the real Rhys, and slowly we’ll figure out that it’s not the guy Joe’s been talking to. It’s been himself."

Viewers of the video seem to be in agreement, with one person saying: "I’m on board with this theory. Killer being simply Rhys is far too easy."

Another added: "What if Rhys is Joe’s half brother (the one that was briefly seen in the last episode of season 3) and Love is alive and helping him."

We'll have to wait until March 9 for the second part of the season...
