I don't know about you, but despite being a fully fledged adult, I still fantasise about being a princess. I mean, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton really are doing a great job selling the lifestyle - who would say no to free clothes, tiaras and and the mass media dissecting your every move and sartorial choice?

While we currently have a dearth of eligible royal bachelors in Britain, you can sleep easy with the knowledge that you can be a princess for a day at Disney World, at least.

As Walt Disney World in Orlando, salons are making dreams come true by offering couture princess makeovers for adults, as well as children.

Previously, only kids could visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and be transformed into mini princesses upon entering the park. But since last October, during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, adults have been able to visit various salons in the park to receive a Character Couture Makeover.

Speaking to Today, Guest Services Manager at Disney World Orlando, Joseph Motowidlak explained, "We saw that our guests were coming up with outfits and entire ensembles inspired by Disney characters. We really saw a need for some kind of transformative makeover experience for people of all ages — something customized to allow guests to really enjoy their day on our property."

Visiting adults can bring in their own outfits inspired by their favourite characters, and makeup artists at the salons can glam them up to resemble everyone from Ariel and Aurora to animal characters such as Bambi.

"The main thing that makes the experience different than anything else is that it's customizable," Motowidlak continued. "Our stylists have an extensive color palette to work with and clients get to talk through their vision for their look with their stylist — whether that's something subtle or more dramatic. Truly, the sky is the limit."

Four salons at the Orlando resort offer the Character Couture Makeovers: the Ship Shape Salon at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Ivy Trellis Salon at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Salon by the Springs at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and La Vida Salon at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.

Prices range from $50 - $120, depending on the customer's age and the type of service required. The full package - of hair, makeup, and nail design - would cost an adult $120.
