Can you believe it's been over seven years since we last saw Khal Drogo? Despite the fact that many of us know Jason Momoa best as the leader of the Dothraki armies in Game of Thrones, he was only around for one season (give or take a vision or two), and wasn't in as many high-profile movies in the next few years.

That all changed when he was cast in Justice League as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman. The character, even amongst the nerdiest of comic book nerds, was something of a joke for years - with his fish-talking powers and green underwear being an object of ridicule. But Momoa's version of the character was a little different, bringing an edge to the character that set him apart.
While he was simply one member of the team in that superhero team-up joint, he has his own fully-fledged solo movie which is hitting cinemas this week. While his character on Game of Thrones was stoic, brutal and serious, his real-life personality is far softer, and it looks like he's a complete showman at heart.

If that wasn't already clear from his hilarious appearance hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live! this month (a dream come true for the actor), he's brought out the big guns for his time on the red carpet. He's appeared on plenty of them before, but it was at the premiere for Aquaman that he brought out a ceremonial dance. Oh, and he whipped out his character's iconic trident while he was at it.

The premiere was held in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where Momoa was joined by various co-stars to introduce the film to the world. While there, it turned out they'd all planned something for the fans and cameras gathered there that night, as Momoa and several others broke out into a performance of the haka, a ceremonial dance in Māori culture.
He was was joined by his two children for the haka, in addition to various other castmembers and New Zealand’s Temuera Morrison, who also plays his father in the new film. Momoa is from Hawaii, but has often spoken about his love for New Zealand and its culture - wearing a Pounamu necklace, as his on-screen character does too.

While the Haka originates in New Zealand, it has made a home in Hawaiian culture in more recent years. The state's own version is called the Hawaiian ha'a, and clearly Momoa has had some practice:

Momoa isn't just turning heads on the red carpet. For years now, he's become one of the internet's favourites, from the time he Instagrammed a night out with the Game of Thrones cast, to the hilarious way he takes photos with fans.
With the new Aquaman sending his star status into the stratosphere, he's bound to be back in the news doing something fun and hilarious sometime soon.

Jason Momoa has once again proven why he was picked for the role of Aquaman.
In the latest clip in Men's Health's widely popular Gym & Fridge series, where the outlet visits celebrities and explores their fridges and gyms.
The 43-year-old actor was the most recent famous face to join the series, showing the men's magazine his chaotically delightful warehouse/artist commune in New Zealand.
However, Momoa made jaws drop when he answered the door in an open bathrobe.
In the video, Momoa shows off a fridge full of his Mananalu canned water, poi, and Guinness - as well as baring all while nude bicycle riding, boxing, and kettlebell swinging. Iconic, but also definitely NSFW.
The Game of Thrones actor revealed during the interesting interview that he loves to keep fit by doing a range of different activities - including boxing, mountain bike riding, and course rock climbing (is there anything he can't do?).
Aside from showcasing his genitals and incredible fitness regimen, Momoa also spoke about his future at DC and the upcoming sequel to 2018's Aquaman - with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hitting theaters December 20 this year - as well as his return to the Fast & Furious franchise. However, Momoa's most exciting project is one he developed himself, an Apple TV+ show called Chief of War.
He told Men's Health that the series explores Polynesian history from an indigenous perspective - which the actor promises is the first of its kind. The show follows the story of a Hawaiian chief who attempts to unite the islands against colonization in the late 1700s. To film this, Momoa is set to remain in New Zealand for at least the next year.
Momoa's latest venture will sadly keep him away from the two children he shares with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet - Nakoa-Wolf and Lola. "I don't get to see my kids right now for a very long time. I gotta share things with them. I'm doing everything that I want to do, everything that I'm designed to do. And you've got to do that. I want my children to know that and do that," the father admitted.
"I worked for a very long time when they were young doing s**t I didn't want to do to put food on the table. And now? You should only work with the people you wanna work with. You should create with the people you wanna create with. And if you're not, then you got one shot in this life - you gotta get the f**k out," he added. "Whatever situation you're in, you gotta find your path, you know?"
Many fans have taken to social media to comment on seeing Momoa in his birthday suit, with one person writing: "Where does he live? Asking for a friend."
Someone else added: "I'm definitely going to need the uncensored version of this immediately."
What do you think of Momoa's antics? Let us know in the comments!

According to Muscle and Strength magazine, Momoa has followed the Accelerated Results 7 (AR-7) routine for a while now. The full-body plan is unique in how it can get anyone in top shape in a short amount of time.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BVdcW0Un9Ij/?hl=en&taken-by=prideofgypsies]]The key is in using low reps, low weight, and little rest between exercises. Low weights without many reps? Sounds weird right? It comes down to the high tempo and fast pace, meaning you'll start to feel the burn much sooner, with the aim of reaching muscular failure.
This also means you'll be able to do the workout a few times a day, as Momoa did. Training for Aquaman, he was in the gym two hours a day for about five-to-six days a week. This level of dedication and having to work through the pain of deliberate muscle failure clearly paid off. [[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/Bbc9DJJnU30/?hl=en&taken-by=prideofgypsies]]The AR-7 routine was developed by personal trainer Eric Laciste, who Momoa's been training with since his role as Conan the Barbarian in 2010. The gym where Momoa trains with Laciste is LA-based is one that's seen other actors and stuntmen get ripped for films like 300 and Fight Club.
"It’s this huge warehouse and just a bunch of f**king bad-asses crushing weights," Momoa said, describing the gym. But it seems also before he started doing the Aquaman workouts, Momoa wasn't all that interested in hitting the weights."It's very hard sometimes to just work out. It's monotonous and you can get stuck in a rut," Momoa told Men's Health. "I get bored, so I do a lot more boxing, surfing, climbing – I do the things I love to do when I'm not training for a role."
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BZVbPOdHfn0/?hl=en&taken-by=prideofgypsies]]"When I have to change my body type, then we just switch it up. Doing a lot more weights for size; a lot more cardio for definition."
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BY7WR7Fne6q/?hl=en&taken-by=prideofgypsies]] Whatever he's doing, it's working.
