If there was ever a combination of words that could persuade you to forsake new year’s promises of picky eating, it is “Free Nuggets”. As if we needed any more proof that arbitrarily limiting what we can and can’t eat is a terrible idea, such an offer is set to hit London this weekend. God bless giveaways.

Thanks to the good folk at THIS, visitors to Shoreditch’s trendy food-focused pop-up mall “Boxpark” will be able to benefit from a free 5,000 nugget giveaway this Sunday. The nuggets, which are plant-based and totally vegan-friendly, will be handed out from 1 pm on a first-come, first-served basis, according to Time Out. Cue bedlam.

To make the offer even more tempting, THIS are teasing potential attendees, stating that they have secured the services of a ‘world-famous celebrity’ to help serve the snacks. Though there’s no word on who the famous face might be, it certainly looks like THIS are pulling out all the stops to distribute their Nugs to the masses.

In a statement released to Metro, THIS Co-founder, Andy Shovel, said:

“There’s not much more to say than watch THIS space and get down to BOXPARK on 12th January. We’re going to be hosting the biggest plant-based nugget giveaway that London has ever seen, and probably Europe. We’ve also got a pretty massive celebrity guest on board who will be there on the day to help feed everyone.”

According to THIS’ website, the vegan nugget creators were originally inspired to have a stab at a plant-based chicken alternative because they were “relatively suspicious of people who don’t derive pleasure from dipping edible things into ketchup.” While this giveaway might not alleviate those concerns, it certainly gives the rest of us cause for celebration.
