Driving can be dangerous at the best of times. That's why my mom said to me, "treat everyone else on the road like they're crazy, and you'll stay safe."

Now, a new study as suggested that I may need to look at nothing more than the type of car my fellow motorists are driving. And what vehicles should you be looking out for? Well, Audi, because it turns out that their drivers are statistically the worst and least considerate people on the roads.

The study was conducted by Van Monster, and at this point, it's worth noting that it only referred to what Audi drivers were like on the road. We're sure they're still perfectly nice people. Mostly.

The survey involved 2,000 drivers and found that those who drove Audis were the least likely to own up to causing damage on the roads, parking across two spaces or parking on double yellow lines.

As if that wasn't bad enough, of 33 driving misdemeanours, Audi drivers were most likely to commit 27.

However, Audi drivers weren't the only motorists to come off badly in the survey. Seat drivers were found to have the biggest penchant for road rage.

Meanwhile, Volvo drivers were deemed to the safest and most responsible drivers, closely followed by those in Hyundai and Honda cars.

On top of the other offenses listed, Audi drivers were also found to be the most likely to litter by throwing stuff out the window, in a different but similar survey by Van Monster.

Matt Oliver, a spokesperson for GoCompare Car Insurance, said of the findings: "While it may be no surprise that higher-powered, luxury cars are the marques of choice for some of the more dangerous drivers on the road, it's not true of all owners of these makes."
