A video of the mom in question has gone viral, after she dressed up as a pink unicorn with a glorious rainbow-colored horn to meet her daughter from the school bus. She captioned the brilliant clip: "When your daughter is young enough to think you're still cool and not embarrassing."

The woman featured is Somer Scandridge; a mom of two from Texas who describes herself as a "big kid for life". She'd ordered the costume online and decided to give it its debut while meeting her six-year-old daughter Madison at her school bus.

Eagle-eyed viewers will realize how good a decision this was; not only was Madison delighted to see her mom in costume, she was wearing a unicorn hairband and had a unicorn backpack, so her love of the mythical creature was apparent for all to see.

After the surprise, Somer shared the video on her Facebook page, where it quickly garnered a lot of attention.

"You are my inspiration. LOVE IT," one person commented.

Another gushed: "I love everything about this!"

Somer explained why she'd bought the costume in the first place to local news outlet KTRK - it's all part of a family tradition.

"Every year, my 4-year-old son and my 6-year-old daughter pick out their Halloween costumes, and whatever they pick, we match them. My husband matches my son and I match my daughter," she said.

Needless to say, Madison is dressing up as a unicorn this Halloween.

"We're a super close family and do a lot of stuff together," Somer added.
