A pair of conjoined twins once offered answers to a number of questions that they get asked all of the time, opening up about how one of them is intimate with their partner and what happens when one of them dies.
Of course, being conjoined presents unique situations for the pair, but they have opened up on some of the more common questions that people have about their lives.
That includes a few that are a little inappropriate, by their own admission.
Carmen and Lupita Andrade are constantly getting asked questionsCarmen and Lupita Andrade are conjoined twins in their twenties, and they are often asked questions about their lives.
Naturally, people are interested due to the rarity of their condition, but people do have a tendency to ask questions that they wouldn’t ask someone else.
The pair share a bloodstream and reproductive organs, much like fellow conjoined twins Brittany and Abby Hensel, so it’s fair to say that they share a lot.
In a livestream, the pair answered questions - somewhat reluctantly.
"We're gonna do an FAQ because some of you don't shut the f*** up on videos that have nothing to do with our bodies," Lupita told viewers.
First off, they are very clear that they are two separate people with two separate brains.
"If one of us is tired, we both don't have to be tired because we have two separate brains," Carmen said.
Both then repeated: "We are two separate people."
What happens if one of them dies? However, despite clearly being two distinct people, they do share enough for them to be linked forever, including if one of them dies.
In fact, the other wouldn’t last very long at all if the other was to sadly pass away.
Carmen explained: “We share a blood stream,
"So eventually sepsis will kick in, and obviously, within hours or days the other one will die.
“But we're not dead so why always ask us that?
“Like, are we a doctor?"
Fair enough.
The pair further explained that they can’t control each other’s ‘halves’ or read each other’s minds.
But, they do feel it if one drinks alcohol, due to their shared bloodstream.
As you may already know, Carmen has a boyfriend called Daniel, whereas Lupita identifies as asexual.
She cleared that up in an interview, confirming: “I don’t want anyone.”
That doesn’t mean that Carmen can’t be intimate though, and Lupita just wears headphones when that is happening or if she needs to tune out.
“I have headphones and a phone. I don’t care,” Lupita confirmed.
As for her sister’s boyfriend, she said: “I love him as a brother,
“That’s about it.”
