A doctor has revealed exactly what happens to a male body when it partakes in No Nut November.

It's that time of year again, ladies and gentlemen - it's November - which means it's time for some people to decide whether they want to sign up for the 'No Nut' challenge.

Now, for those of you who might not be familiar with the term, let me give you a bit of background information on it.

No Nut November is an annual tradition where men try to go 30 days without ejaculating through methods such as m*sturbation and sexual intimacy. The challenge is said to have originated somewhere in the depths of Reddit as the initial post outlined some potential benefits of remaining abstinent, but has now spread to other social media platforms like X (Twitter) and Instagram.

While some benefits of the pros of taking part included better sperm quality, increased stamina, and better willpower, some experts have actually warned against the practice.

Erectile dysfunction expert Dr. Alexis Missick, from the pharmaceutical company UK Meds, has opened up about the downsides of not getting involved in self-pleasure.

Speaking to The Daily Star, she said: "M*sturbation actually has beneficial effects on testosterone levels and libido, almost like a positive advocate loop.

"By m*sturbating, it can delay the time to ejaculation, almost like building stamina and routine," the expert continued. "It can also reduce some of the psychological issues such as low self-esteem and performance anxiety, that would increase the chance of erectile dysfunction.

"The reverse is true - refraining from m*sturbating could worsen premature ejaculation and indirectly erectile dysfunction," she added.

In order to tackle those types of issues, Dr. Missick has recommended lowering stress in your life, controlling one's weight, and also having regular mental health checks if the person with ED is suffering in their personal or professional lives.

Urologist and sexual health expert Dr Rena Malik also warned people to be careful when taking part in this challenge, stating that 30 days might be a little bit of a push.

"There's a number of benefits to m*sturbation," Dr. Malik said in a YouTube video. "Including better sleep, decreased heart rate, decreased stress, and a lot of increase in feel-good hormones."

She added: "People can get a lot of pain and discomfort in their pelvic floor, or their testicles," noting that 'blue balls' is a very real thing.

Not only that, but if one refrains from ejaculating for a while, it doesn't mean the body does not continue to produce sperm so you can actually get a build-up in the genitals which will need relieving at some point.

So there we have it guys, there are pros and cons to everything but each to their own!
