A flight attendant has taken to social media to reveal why pilots can't eat the same meal as each other while flying an aircraft.
The stewardess, who goes by the handle @danidboyy1 on TikTok, took to the platform on Saturday, May 13 in a video shared with her 232,000 followers.
In the clip, the cabin crew member explains that pilots have to eat separately from each other to prevent them from being sick while flying the aircraft.
Take a look at the video right here:If the pilot and co-pilot ate the same meals each other, then they could risk being poisoned or becoming sick through some other form of virus, meaning that both would be unable to handle the controls in the cockpit at the same time.
In her video, @danidboyy1 states: "This is to ensure that if the meal is contaminated, and the captain or first officer gets sick after eating it, then the flight deck who had a different meal should still be OK and able to operate the aircraft."
Her PSA clearly resonated with other TikTok users and has now accrued over 479,000 views, 36,000 likes, and nearly 200 comments as of the time of writing.

One person wrote: "Imagine them sitting arguing who gets pasta or chicken hahahah. [sic]"

Another added: "Oh so the passengers are the testers right?"

While a third disgruntled cabin crew member wrote: "Lol they just take whatever they can from first and moan if we give it to crew first. When they get their own meals catered anyway. [sic]"

However, some people took issue with the video, seeing it as somewhat generalized. For example, one commenter wrote: "Please note that this is NOT true on all airlines and in all countries. [sic]"

The stewardess herself then returned to the comments to things up a little, replying to the above comment by writing: "Correct this is not true for all airlines and countries. I'm just talking from my own personal experience [of] being a flight attendant."
This isn't the first time that a member of a cabin crew has let the general public in on some choice secrets of the aviation industry.
Back in January, flight attendant, Kat Kamalani took to the platform to advise us all why it's a really bad idea to order tea or coffee on a plane.
