A flight attendant has taken to social media to share the gross reason why she claims you should never order tea or coffee on a plane.
Now, getting a flight can be a stressful experience at the very best of times, what with the time pressures, endless queuing and potential turbulence or unruly passengers to contend with even once you finally board the plane.
But flight attendant Kat Kamalani is helping to make the whole experience run a little more smoothly, after she took to TikTok to share her top tips about which products you should and shouldn't consume on an airplane.
"Don't you ever, ever, ever consume these products, from an airplane, from a flight attendant," she began.
"Rule number one, never consume any liquid that is not in a can or a bottle, the reason being is because those water tanks, are never cleaned.
"And they are disgusting. So talk to a flight attendant, we rarely, rarely drink the coffee or tea, they come from the same water tank so when you're drinking that coffee or tea it comes from that hot water and it's absolutely disgusting."
Kamalani then points out two machines and goes on to explain the alleged cleaning processes of them.
"These little coffee guys are rarely cleaned unless they are broken. These guys are taken out and cleaned in between flights but the whole machine is never cleaned. And, they are by the lavatories," she said.

Kamalani also had a top tip for parents who want hot water for their baby's bottle.
"Pro tip for all you parents, never ask for hot water and put it in your baby's bottle, ask for a bottled water on the side, get hot water in a cup and then give your baby a bottle with the bottled water and heat it up," was her advice.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with In The Know, Sandra Jeenie Kwon has been discussing the common misconceptions that people have about what it's like to be a flight attendant.
"Most people when they see flight attendants think of this job as a glamorous jet setter and believe all we do is greet and serve passengers food and drinks,” she told the publication. “This is honestly what I thought, too, before I became cabin crew.”
