Over the years, there have been plenty of beauty trends designed to be as over-the-top as possible. Okay, so they're not to everyone's taste, but these fashions inevitably come and go. At the moment, most nail salons are used to customers who really want to get themselves especially long, fake fingernails. Personally, I think they look a bit tacky, and I can imagine how people can actually pick up stuff with them, much less tap a phone or peel an orange for example.

But now it seems there's a new beauty trend on the scene in the same vein, and this one's a doozy. According to Instagram, more and more women are now electing to give themselves extra-long fake toenails this summer. What's more, they're being encourage to share the pictures of their feet on social media for all the world to see.

As you can see, there are now plenty of posts on Instagram showing women with their long, painted acryllic toenails. Fake nails are nothing new under the sun, but these look even more impratical. How the hell do people wear shoes with these? I guess they have to stick to flip-flops. Anyway, scroll down at your own peril.
