A video has gone viral on social media this week, which shows a nine-year-old boy breaking down after his three-year cancer treatment comes to an end.
Steven Cotter, who hails from the town of Norman in Oklahoma, was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia way back in August 2016 when he was just six years old.
According to a report by ABC6 News, Steven was then forced to undergo his first chemotherapy treatment just a few days later. The young boy's treatments continued every single day ... until this last weekend.
After Steven was declared cancer-free, his proud mom Ashley decided to document her son taking his medication for the very last time. Ashley later posted the emotional video of her son on Facebook over the weekend, and although the footage has no sound, you can see the young boy crying tears of joy.
Watch the emotional footage in the video below:Ashley later posted a follow-up picture, showing her son surrounded by all the containers for the medication he's had to take over the past three years.
She captioned the post: "This is just a touch of what he’s had to take over the past 3 yrs my baby kicked cancer ass with a smile on his face and his head held high I could not be more proud then I am right now!!!!! #peaceoutcancer [sic]"
Ashley also later posted a picture of Steven alongside his little brother, with a cake that read: "I kicked cancer's butt!" written in icing on the top.
