A man has left social media users stunned by getting the words "hot dogs" tattooed across his forehead inside the outline of a cross.

The video of the bizarre inking was shared by a Vancouver-based tattoo artist, who goes by the handle @nomad_radtattoo on TikTok.

In the caption, the artist wrote: "Finally excited to have a face tat. It’s gonna be sick...he said," and showed the process of the customer getting the tattoo.

Although the man's reaction to the final outcome wasn't shown, he appeared to look calm and collected as he exclaims to the artist that the face tattoo is going to be "sick".

Check out the TikTok video below:

At the time of writing, the video had already amassed over 5.4 million views and 352.7K likes on the video-sharing app and drew condemnation from online users.

Many people remarked that the customer would soon regret his decision and also criticized the artist for allowing him to get the unconventional tattoo.

One user jokingly wrote: "Can't wait for the manic episode to come down and he can start getting it [lasered] off."

So many people make the conscious decision to permanently stamp strange phrases on themselves. Meanwhile, others get tattoos as a solution to their "daily struggles" such as which hand is their left and right.

A woman named Eiza Murphy, who goes by the handle @eizamurphy on TikTok, shared a video of her sister getting an 'L' and 'R' tattooed on each of her hands, just below the thumb.

The TikToker captioned the post: "My sister doesn't know her left and rights so she got them tattooed on her lmfao," and showed a close-up shot of the tattoo artist cleaning up his inked work.

Unlike the hot dog tattoo, many people took to the comment section of this video to tell Murphy that they completely understand her sister's decision.
