McDonald's is rolling out Chicken McGriddles and McChicken Biscuits as part of the breakfast menu at selected stores in Southern California.
Chicken McGriddles have garnered themselves quite a few fans since their McDonald's debut back in 2017.
McChicken Biscuits, another welcome addition to the fast-food giant's breakfast menu, is a variation of the original McChicken sandwich - without the lettuce and mayo.
The sandwiches are both fairly simple as far as McDonald's sandwiches go. Chicken McGriddles are made up of two maple-flavored griddle cakes which contain a seasoned McChicken patty. McChicken Biscuits are made up of a warm split biscuit which contains a McChicken patty.
It's now starting to look like they might soon become available nationwide, fans of the items will be pleased to hear.
In several locations in Southern California, Chicken McGriddles and McChicken Biscuits have been making very appearances on value breakfast menus as part of a testing phase.
They are currently on offer in selected stores as part of a 2 for $3 deal, and some locations even include them on the $1 $2 $3 menu in the AM hours.
It should be reiterated, however, that the fast-food chain is just testing the items; if all goes well, though, they could become available throughout the US.
The tests are part of McDonald's plan to boost US breakfast sales, with internal documents calling morning sales a 'key system business priority', Business Insider reports.
"We're still in a market share fight overall because there are more and more people offering breakfast as a competitive play," CEO Steve Easterbrook said.
Aside from the additional menu items, McDonald's is using local deals during morning hours to tempt customers. The fast-food restaurant also aims to speed up service in the morning, attempting to focus more on drive-thru customers.
