A millionaire father of seven has blasted people struggling with money.
UK businessman Barrie Drewitt Barlow, 51, said he was sick of "hard luck stories" and claimed lazy people get what they deserve in a recent interview with Fabulous magazine.
Wealthy magnate Barrie is worth almost £200 million and is not shy about splashing his cash on a lavish lifestyle. The businessman - who has recently welcomed his seventh child with 27-year-old fiancé Scott Hutchinson - splits his time between multimillion-dollar properties in Florida, Miami, San Francisco, Orland, Bangkok, and Essex.
Meanwhile, he's currently looking to expand his property portfolio by purchasing a Castle in Wales and building an enormous $6.7 million mansion in Essex, where he will live with his seven children, his fiancé, his ex-husband, and his ex-husband's new partner.
Talking to Fabulous, Barrie explained that he feels no guilt spending his money while other people are struggling.
"I totally do feel for them all, but at the end of the day, I have been in their situation. No one handed me a silver spoon and told me to go have a good time," he said, adding: "I work 19-hour days, every day of the week and as the old saying goes, work hard, play hard and I do both."
The businessman went on to say that he was tired of people complaining about their financial situation.
"I'm sick of hearing people's hard luck stories to be honest with you, there are always opportunities out there if you look for them and if I can do it, anyone can," Barrie said.
"Those that want to sit on their a** all day long, get what they deserve," he added.
Unsurprisingly, many readers were enraged by Barrie's words. Some even took to Twitter to hit back at the self-made millionaire.
"There’s a lot of people out there that don’t want to sit on their a** but can’t work due to health or any other reasons," one person pointed out, adding: "Not everybody sitting without work is lazy so think before you speak."
"Some of us have raised children and worked as well, and are now retired. Just because you’ve got money, doesn’t make you any better than me mate," another tweeted, adding: Maybe you should spread it around and help people that have very little!"
In response to the criticism and to further clarify his comments, Barlow has taken to Instagram to share the message of "If the cap fits, wear it".
Captioning his most recent post, he writes: "To all those hard working people out there, you guys rock! its the lazy a** people who don't do a days work and expect something for nothing i have the issue with!
"Good hard working, working class people are the cornerstone of our Society, but of course, there are always those that want something for nothing! Those that have an issue with this, do i really REALLY care! No lol if you don't like your life, do something about it, like the hundreds of entrepreneurs that risk everything to get what they have!"
