My office hasn't had Jaffa Cakes in a while, and although I'm sad about this, I... kind of don't blame them.
No matter how many boxes they bring in, by the end of the day there's nothing left but a couple of measly crumbs and the wistful promise a faint, chocolate-orange scent, and it's at least 70 percent my fault. What can I say? I love me some Jaffa Cakes... but I kind of don't know what to make of this brand-new flavour.

Of course, your average Jaffa Cake (plus their store brand knockoffs) all have one thing in common: a soft base worthy of the label of cake, a dark chocolate topping, but - most crucially - an orange jelly filling. Without it, Jaffa Cakes just aren't the same, but what if that filling was a different flavour?
That's right, folks: take a look at this new era of Jaffa Cake, and see if you can figure out which side of the debate you lie on. Strawberry Jaffa Cakes are here, and they've become the most hotly-contested debate amongst Jaffa Cakes fans - taking over from the argument over whether they're biscuits or cakes.
(They're cakes, thank you very much. It's right there in the name...)
Strawberry Jaffa Cakes look a lot like your usual fare, except for the fact that the orange filling is now an interesting reddish-pink. Y'know, like a strawberry. But while some people are loving the new flavour, the jury's out on the Jaffa Cakes. That's if Twitter is to be believed, at least.
While some are describing the new flavour as "the business", others are criticising the new flavour as not exactly being as flavourful as the Original Recipe Jaffa Cakes. "@McVities your new ‘strawberry’ Jaffa cakes have never seen strawberry. They literally have no flavour. What a disappointment!" said one such detractor, but it's honestly difficult to tell if I'll feel the same way about these Jaffa Cakes.
If, by any chance, you've sampled that flavour and you're giving up hope of finding a decent snack worthy of you, it might be worth switching from snack cake to sandwich cookie, and take a look at Oreo and their brand new flavours for the year 2019.
Carrot Cake flavour Oreo is just one of those flavours you can expect this year, and alongside Dark Chocolate, Fudge-Covered as well as Most Stuf Oreo cookies, which promises to bring all of the Stuf. Some would say too much Stuf, but not me.
Over the next couple of weeks, too, there's more Oreo flavours to look forward to: just in time for Valentine's Day, you've got Love flavour Oreo cookies, featuring your trademark chocolate wafers sandwiching a tangy pink creme centre filling.
If that's not enough, we've got Easter coming up, and with it, Easter-themed Oreo! If you're a fan of sweet treats, then it's a good time to be alive, and between these new flavours of Jaffa Cakes and Oreo, you're going to be pretty spoilt for choice.
