A nurse has called out critics who say her scrubs are "inappropriate".
In a video that has gone viral on TikTok, Erika Diaz slammed people for criticizing her work wear and claimed that what they really had an issue with was her curvy physique.
In the clip, the 22-year-old nurse can be seen modeling her blue scrubs, which she wears with the top tucked in. In overlay text, she shared one of the comments she receives most regularly: "'Why do you wear your scrubs like that, it's inappropriate.'"
The TikTok then cuts to screenshots of the uniform being advertised online, proving that it is designed to be tucked in just the same way Erika has done.
In the video's caption, the TikToker highlighted how the only difference between her and the models advertising the scrubs is her proportions. "Some people just have an issue with my body not my scrubs and it shows," she wrote.
Since she shared the clip, it has racked up over 12.9 million views and thousands of comments. Erika went on to clarify in the comments section that her hourglass figure is largely on account of her being very petite - adding that her body was not "fake".
"Just for clarification I am 5’2” and 107 lbs. I'm short and little," she explained. "Y'all can say my body is fake all y'all want, it's not. Ask my back problems."
"I literally work 2 jobs, volunteer, and I am still studying," she continued. "I'm devoting my life to the improvement of others and anyone's opinions are irrelevant."
Despite Erika's attempt to shut down any criticism, many people took to the comments section below her video to complain that her scrubs are in fact too tight.
"You have the wrong size. I think. Like, live your best life and west what makes you comfy, but I get what they mean," one person wrote. Another added: "You simply can buy a 1 bigger size to give you space for breath."
A third commented: "It’s just not professional."
However, many other people leaped to Erika's defense. "These comments are actually making me so mad. She’s wearing it like it’s supposed to be worn. She can’t control the way her body is made," one person commented. Meanwhile, another pointed out: "Y’all wouldn’t have a problem with it if she had A cups."
