A man has been caught red-handed for allegedly cheating on his wife after she spotted tell-tale details in the background of two selfies he took from inside his hotel room.
The incident was shared online by a TikTok user going by the handle @shesough, who took to her account on Sunday, February 14, to post a video to her 13,300 followers on the platform to ask them their advice on a very delicate situation.
Take a look at the scandalous video below:The TikTok user shared the offending pics and wrote in a caption in the video: "My husband sent me pics trying to look all cute in his suite at the casino, but I noticed some odd things, now he is single. Can you guess what it is?”
In the video in question, @shesough explains that her husband told her he was going out to a casino for a night of casual gambling and would be spending the night in a hotel.
However, when he sent her a picture from the inside of the hotel, @shesough couldn't help but notice a hair straightener, comb, and make-up bag on full display in the sink - all of which suggests that there was a woman in there with him.
The post quickly went viral and has now accrued over 4.5 million views, 387,000 reactions, and a further 13,900 shares from other social media users as of the time of writing.
A number of other TikTok users posted their own ideas about that the "odd things were", some facetious, others more serious.
For example, one commenter wrote: "someone's drawn on his face in red pen."
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "stone washed jean jacket... grounds for divorce."
A more serious commenter, who boasted Sherlockian powers of observation, wrote: "Women's dove body wash, contact solution (if he doesn't have contacts ofc), green cap Cetaphil face wash (I think), makeup bag, straightener, comb. [sic]"
Meanwhile, another amateur sleuth wrote: "I see, something red on counter in first pic? Green cap of bottle, straightener, comb, maybe laundry bag? I think that's a black and purple bra too. [sic]"
However, a number of male commenters then decided to play devil's advocate in the comments, theorizing that this could all be a misunderstanding on the wife's part.
For instance, one person wrote: "How we don't know that is the straightener that comes with the room? You know like how they have a blow dryer. it was a suite right? [sic]"
Meanwhile, another man wrote: "You know hotels come with those and hair dryers ready in the room. [sic]"
However, most female viewers were unconvinced by these counter-arguments and took to the comments to say so.
For instance, one person wrote: "As a flight attendant who basically lives in hotel rooms hotels DO NOT have STRAIGHTENERS in the rooms. Blow dryers yes. Straighteners NO. [sic]"
Meanwhile, @shesough took to the comments in a follow-up post to state that her (now) ex would probably tell his side of the story in the near future.
The woman in question wrote: "He knows there's a video and people trying to find him now so don't be surprised if he makes a video about me. [sic]"
In a follow-up video posted the very next day, @shesough explained that her ex had tried to excuse the seemingly-female accouterments by claiming to have visited the room of another man who was staying there with his girlfriend, but that she remains unconvinced by his story.
