Well, exactly that happened to Zachary Garrett and his family - and all because the stranger in question was accidentally added to a family group chat.

It all started when a guy named Bobby was mistakenly added to the Garrett family's group chat, while they were discussing the birth of the newborn.

At the time, Zachary and his wife were at the hospital preparing for the arrival of their new baby.

It was only when they went to update the family in the group chat, that they came to the shocking realization that a stranger had been added to the group.

But as it turns out, they couldn't have added a more generous stranger, as Bobby was touched to have been included, albeit unintentionally, and even offered them a gift. Sending the Garretts a selfie, he wrote: "Don’t know how I got added to this group, cause I don’t think I know anyone in it!! LOL But anywho CONGRATS ZACH!!"

"My name is Bobby by the way," he added. "Shoot me your Cashapp info and I will donate to the diapers."

"My bad bro! I really appreciate it Bobby. Sorry you got thrown in the mix lol."

Bobby, however, felt in no way put out by the whole affair and insisted on making a donation towards the diapers because "you can't ever have enough".

"You have my old number before I joined the Air Force," Zachary explains. "My grandmother must've put you in this chat trying to get a hold of me lol."

He then accepts Bobby's offer, writing: "Me and my wife are so grateful. Thank you so much for the generous gift. It was so unexpected! If you ever need anything let me know. I will try to help out any way I can!"
