When you've just become a parent and you have a newborn baby on your hands, it's a fact that you'll have to get used to a bit of sleep deprivation for the first couple of weeks.

Seriously, you'll come to learn only too well that those little bundles of joy can scream loud enough to drown out a jet engine, and you'll be snatching power naps whenever you can.

However, a mom on Facebook has gone viral for a post she made back in December, which shows a genius hack she came up with in order to ensure that her husband wasn't napping on the job.

Samantha Mravik-Miller shared her photo at the end of last year while in the hospital recovering from the experience of childbirth. Although Samantha had posted a number of pictures of her baby, this one was different.

Here's another amazing mom hack, from a woman who used cardboard cut-outs to fool her little one:

Instead of a cute family photo, Samantha had taken a snap of a Nerf gun she packed in her hospital bag. Why? She intended to shoot her husband with it if it looked like he was drifting off while they were with their new baby.

Samantha captioned the post: "Mom hack level 1,0000 Worried about the nights in the hospital with your new born & dad sleeping? Well... then don’t forget one of these in your hospital bag ? [sic]"

In a later interview with Romper, Samantha stated: "I packed it because when my five-year-old was born my husband slept through him crying in the hospital ...  I figured this way I would have better aim."

So there you have it: if you're expecting in the near future, then maybe take a leaf out of Samantha's book to ensure your partner isn't slacking!
