For many of us, our wedding day is the happiest day of our lives, and an opportunity t0 celebrate the bond we share with the person we love most in this world.

Sadly, however, some couples never get the chance to stand at the altar together.

Mackenzie Coulter was one such person. The loving bride was tragically left without her groom after fiancé Brody Logan was killed shortly before their wedding.

Per CafeMom, Brody passed away in a tragic traffic collision on June 21, 2020. He was just 26-years-old.

Mourning the loss of her husband-to-be, the bride called up her friend, photographer Kirsten Todd, and shared an idea with her.

Mackenzie donned the wedding dress she should have worn on her big day and traveled to a picturesque family farm in Illinois for her wedding photoshoot.

Incredibly, Todd took things one step further by utilizing her editing skills and managed to photoshop Brody into some of the pictures.

As you can see from their recreated engagement pictures, the late groom appears as a spectral figure, semi-transparent, alongside his beloved.

"Yesterday was supposed to be the day Mackenzie and Brody became one. God had other plans.

"On June 21, God decided Brody’s time here on earth was done. What was supposed to be the final month of planning a wedding turned into planning a funeral, a memorial service, and more.

She continued: "Mackenzie has handled all of this with the utmost STRENGTH. When Kenz reached out to me about these photos, I was floored ... When the time came around for photos, I was just completely speechless at her strength and grace to get through this photo shoot."

She added: "It was a perfect night of Kenz showing off her dress and remembering Brody surrounded by their immediate families. I am continually amazed by her strength and grace. She has proven throughout this situation that she will be okay, but I ask one thing."

"Please pray for her," Todd added, "and please continue to pray for her as she continues navigating through life without Brody. Mackenzie, I love you girl. You are truly amazing and your strength is so inspiring. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this."

A number of Facebook users have since commented on Todd's post, sharing how the poignant images made them feel. For instance, one person wrote:

"So beautiful.. From the spirit of the bride to the photography. Thanks for sharing. It touched my heart and soul. Prayers for continued strength on this journey."

Meanwhile, another person added:

"I'm so sorry for your loss but the strength you had to do this photo shoot in honor of him is amazing and you look absolutely stunning."
