A viral hack to eat an entire McDonald's meal with one hand has divided the internet.

The hack, which was posted to McDonald's Australia's Instagram account, shows a picture of a standard McDonald's meal and drink and how its containers can be manipulated so that the entire thing can be eaten with just one hand.

The interesting post was captioned: "Fancy a one-handed meal? Simply unfold your burger box to make a fries tray, then perch it on your soft drink. Easy as."

In the video below, kids taste test the new McDonald's vegetarian Happy Meal:

So, what exactly is it implying? Well, the first step involves opening out your burger box, placing the fries in the other half of it, then funneling the straw through its middle by placing it onto your drink.

While this might seem like genius to some, the hack has thoroughly divided the internet.

Personally, I'm not sure a burger and fires could balance on top of a soda, but I could be wrong. I certainly wouldn't want to risk my entire meal falling over and potentially landing on the floor.

However, my critique was a practical one, and the biggest complaint to emerge in response to the hack was from people who thought it was just plain lazy.

One Instagram user commented: "Imagine being this lazy."

Well, in defense of McDonald's, it's never advertised itself as being anything other than a fast-food chain.

Another remarked: "Putting hot food on top of a cold drink ain't a good idea lmao."

However, someone else solved the practical difficulty of eating a burger with two hands, writing: "Or when eating a messy burger, put your pinkies in the slit of the box of the burger, whilst holding the burger. So the contents land in the box."

Genius.
