A woman who has spent over $200,000 on tattoos has shared photos of what she looked like before getting inked and the difference is incredible.
Tattoos used to be a very taboo subject and you used to be warned against getting them in case it impacted your future prospects, including employment.
Luckily, the world has moved on now and people have come to realize that inking your skin doesn't have any impact on your ability to fulfill a job role.
With tattoos becoming more acceptable, some dive head first into covering every inch of themselves, and "Australia's most tattooed woman" is no exception.
Amber Luke, widely recognized as "Dragon Girl" for her extensive body modifications, recently took to Instagram to share a rare throwback photo of herself, shedding light on her pre-tattooed days.
In the image, the 29-year-old showcased a fresh, youthful face with minimal tattoos and piercings, a stark contrast to her current appearance, where she is covered from head to toe with intricate tattoos, including her eyeballs, and even has her tongue split to resemble a lizard.
In her caption, Amber reflected on her journey, stating: "Pictured on the left - a girl; at that stage feeling lost - feeling disconnected from herself. Pictured right - a woman; at that stage feeling turmoil; although resilience radiates."
She continued: "These two women had a choice, to be the person on the left and be miserably ignorant to my own wants and needs in life & was projecting hatred onto others, for the inner pain was too confrontational to stand.
"Or be the woman on the right - someone who dominates their brain and emotions & embraces charismatic traits. I am someone who takes accountability & responsibility."
She concluded: "I am Amber Luke. You will either love it or f***in despise it."
According to the Daily Mail, Amber's body is over 99 percent covered in tattoos and she has become infamous for her striking appearance.
Having invested $280,000 into her extensive ink journey, she flaunts satanic symbols, a split tongue, and tattooed bright blue eyeballs, the latter causing temporary blindness for three weeks.
In a candid conversation in 2022, Amber spoke on the challenges posed by her extreme body modifications. During an interview with Brisbane radio show Robin, Terry & Kip, she shared: "I am getting very heavily tattooed, but I'm not harming anyone in the process." She acknowledged that opinions on her appearance vary but expressed distress at unkind remarks made in public.
"It's very distressing to know that people have that strong opinion and they can just voice it without any repercussions," she shared.
Amber also disclosed the employment challenges she faces due to her distinctive look, stating: "I'm not going to sugar coat it, it has limited my [employment] options but that's okay. Because the way I see it is, I don't want to work for a company that's shallow-minded [and can't] look past my image.
'They won't look at my work ethic, they won't look at my morals or my values or what I have to bring to the table."
