A woman has called out potential male clients for her business after she caught them discussing her looks on a work Zoom call.

Whitney Sharpe is a 28-year-old recruiting and staffing professional from Boston and she found herself in an uncomfortable position during a work call.

While on the Zoom call to potential clients, they shared their screens and Sharpe noticed that the male workers had been sharing unprofessional and unsavory messages about her appearance.

Speaking to Buzzfeed News, the 28-year-old wasn't comfortable sharing all of the messages but one of them referred to her as a "f***ing bombshell."

Sharpe took to TikTok immediately after noticing the messages, where she recorded her interaction with the clients as she called them out for their behavior.

The written overlay of the video explains the situation while adding: "It's 2023 - can this stop."

Sharpe confronts the men by saying: "First of all, if we’re going to continue working together, I want to work with a woman sales representative because I don’t want to have to see locker room talk about myself when you’re sharing screens."

The men appeared to be embarrassed that they had been caught out, referring to it as an "inexcusable mistake," but the apology lacked any real conviction as one man said: "Apologies on that."

Buzzfeed News caught up with Sharpe and she explained that she is disheartened that this behavior still exists in this day and age and that she has worked incredibly hard to be where she is today.

She stated that she is the vice president and one of the "highest-up women" in her company, and she wants to be valued on her merit and business and not what she looks like.

Sharpe revealed that she noticed the messages at the start of the meeting but remained professional before calling them out after it concluded, which she described as "nerve-wracking."

In a follow-up video, the 28-year-old revealed that the company did not become a client of hers, stating: "I cannot work with a vendor and my company will not support a vendor who doesn’t support women in business."

Viewers of the videos were in full support of Sharpe. One person said: "Like you said, it’s 2023 and you think we would’ve progressed. You handled yourself with such grace. Admirable!"

A second person added: "YOU are amazing!!! Proud of you for standing up for yourself and for all of us women who have gone through this."

Sharpe concluded her follow-up video by stating that the company should: "Maybe not hire misogynistic p****s to represent their company out in the field. Maybe hire smarter people who know how to share their screens since that’s part of their f****ing job."
