A devoted baker has found herself scorned over her homemade treats after it was deemed inappropriate for her to be offering them to her colleagues.
When I was at school, I was told to never bring in any candy if I wasn't willing to share them with the entire class. However, it looks like this workplace has got the opposite rule.
Taking to the parenting forum Mumsnet to share her eyebrow-raising story, one woman revealed that she had been told off for kindly baking sweet treats for her co-workers.
"I really enjoy baking - I’m quite good - the only thing I’m really any good at! I like baking traditional cakes like Victoria's Sponge, lemon drizzle, and carrot," the baking enthusiast wrote.

According to her post, she often enjoys baking over the weekend and will whip up a little something extra to take into work and share with her colleagues on Monday morning.
"I work in a team of about 10 people. So there’s plenty for everyone to help themselves- it’s normally demolished by Wednesday," she wrote.
But things took a sour turn when two colleagues voiced their concerns about the impact of her cakes on their diets.
"It’s not appropriate to bring homemade cakes to work because it’s unhealthy and unfair when people are trying to be 'good'," they told her.

The two co-workers even threatened to report her to HR as the amateur baker didn't have a "hygiene rating certificate at home".
The post quickly garnered attention, with users chiming in with their opinions and advice. "I'd go to my manager and ask for clarification," suggested one user, advocating for open communication with management.
A second encouraged the baker to stand her ground, commenting: "Either ignore or suggest they take their concerns to HR. You won't get into trouble, you may be asked to stop, but I doubt it."

Another rallied behind the baker, saying: "It's lovely that you are kind enough to share... they just need to ignore the delicious treats!"
"Ignore the haters and keep on baking," one person responded.
"It's most likely they are just jealous that you are probably getting praise and appreciation from the rest of the team, and they aren't," speculated one user, highlighting the underlying workplace dynamics at play.
Overall, most people slammed the two co-workers for taking their lack of willpower out on the generous baker.
Somebody even joked: "I would take in cake plus a bag of apples for those being 'good'."
And if the drama continues, she can always come and work with me - the last thing I got from an employee was the flu.
