A woman has gone viral on social media this week after losing a whopping 90 kilograms in order to look just like Barbie.

According to news.com.au, 36-year-old costume designer Kayla Lavender, originally from Sydney in Australia, has loved Barbie ever since she was a young girl.

Kayla, who now lives in Las Vegas,  says she was rewarded with one of the famous toys by her parents when she lost weight. She has loved their pink and girly aesthetic ever since then and has now shed an incredible weight in a bid to look just like the dolls she loves so much.

On Instagram, Kayla now boasts over 8,000 followers, who have been fascinated by her gradual transformation.

Per 7News.com.au, Kayla previously opened up about her weight loss journey in an interview on The Morning Show.

She stated that she was first incentivized to change her diet and lifestyle habits and lose some of her body fat after reaching her heaviest weight of 154 kilograms and needing two seats to herself and a seatbelt extender on a commercial flight.

In 2018 she underwent a gastric sleeve procedure, which saw surgeons remove 80% of her stomach. This, combined with a daily meal plan and rigorous workout schedule, led Kayla to lose more than 90 kilograms.

Per news.com.au, Kayla's food intake now consists of a protein shake for breakfast, a chicken or beef dish with cheese for lunch, and another protein shake for dinner, combined with nuts and fruit for snacks.

Speaking on The Morning Show, Kayla stated:

"This wasn’t a diet for me, it was a lifestyle change. I cut out all junk and fast foods, I don’t do carbs, I don’t eat sugar and I work out every day. This is a new lease on life.

"My obsession with Barbie began as a child and has continued into my adult life. I used to have over 200 dolls as my parents used them as an incentive to go on a diet and lose weight."

Writing in a post on her Instagram stories, Kayla told her fans and followers: "This page is all about happy, positive vibes. Obviously, I love Barbie, I love pink, I have been on a massive weight loss journey (which) I am still doing every day. [sic]"
