A social media influencer has revealed that she has received "death threats" after showcasing her recent lockdown weight gain.

Chloe Xandria currently boasts over 256,000 followers on TikTok, and like many of us, she has gained weight throughout the pandemic - but she certainly isn't ashamed of the fact.

Xandria - who hails from the US and now describes herself as a "midsize hype girl" - was determined to use her platform to urge people not to feel guilty about weight gains.

Since January, she has been proudly documenting any changes in her body, all the while calling for people to "normalize normal bodies".

In a video that has since amassed over 12.7 million views, Chloe wrote: "Choosing to appreciate the body that supported me in a global pandemic."

Check out the video below:

In the clip, she can be seen comparing her figure at the beginning of 2020 to her figure now.

The image from January shows Chloe posing for a mirror selfie while wearing a pink crop top and ripped jeans. This is followed by a recent clip, in which she proudly shows off her stomach and back - embracing her fuller figure.

However, despite the empowering video promoting a message of self-love, Chloe has since revealed that she has been targeted by trolls.

In a follow-up video, she writes: "I have gotten numerous death threats for posting this, as well as so many nasty comments about myself and my family.

"I have turned the comments off on my video. I want to thank all of you who have shown me so much love and support. I will continue to fight to normalize all bodies."

Chloe also revealed that one man turned her TikTok post into a "duet" video where he filmed his reaction to her weight gain, implying that he will use it as motivation to run on a treadmill.

She also shared several vile comments from trolls to her 11.1K Instagram followers, with one person writing: "You used quarantine as an excuse to be fat as f***. Ugly a** body."

Another typed: "What the f**k is this transition."

In a previous Instagram post, Chloe spoke candidly about her weight gain over 2020, but reminded her followers that the size of their bodies doesn't determine their worth.

She wrote: "The right is my body after 6 months of quarantine and after my last semester of senior year was taken away from me, but mentally in a WAY better place.

"Maybe you put on a few lbs over quarantine, too. Just remember to give yourself some grace. At times, food was one of the only things that acted as a form of comfort. Through baking and tasting new recipes, I was able to comfort myself in difficult times.

"The size of your body and what you eat will NEVER determine your worth, but your mindset sure as hell will."
