Avocados aren't just for Millenials (contrary to what the internet would have you believe). They're one of the tastiest foods around and can be used in countless dishes that aren't toast!

However, as any avocado lover will attest, they don't tend to keep well, and if you try to save one half for later, chances are that it will be brown by the time you get around to it, even if it's just a few hours later.

Well, it turns out that there's a new solution to this age-old problem that's recently gone viral on TikTok after it was posted by an Australian mom.

Watch the brilliant hack below:

TikTok user @kmag1 shared two videos showing off her "best hack ever", explaining that all you need to emulate it is a plastic container and some water.

The gloriously simple hack involves placing the avocado face down in the water, sealing the container, and popping it in the fridge until you're ready to eat it.

Now, we know what you're thinking, surely that's going to leave you with a very soggy avocado, which is why @kmag1 shared a second video showing that this isn't the case.

Watch the end results of the avocado hack:

"It's been 24 hours and I just took it out of the fridge. It's perfectly green but it is a little waterlogged. I just pat it dry and it gets all that off," she explained.

She then removes the avocado from its skin, and incredibly, there's not even the smallest patch of brown to be seen.

In response to the brilliant hack, one TikTok user wrote: "This is the only information I have ever needed."

A second wrote: "This could not have come my way at a more perfect time hahaha! Was just staring at the left over half from my lunch wondering what to do with it!"
