It's a fact that you can have too much of a good thing sometimes. Think about your favourite food for example. Okay, so maybe it's good to have a little of it, maybe even a lot of it: but if you were forced to eat huge amounts, even past the point where you were full, you probably wouldn't enjoy it too much afterwards.

One person who knows this all too well is Michelle Lesco, who managed to disgust social media users this week after attempting a world record to eat three and a half jars of mayo in three minutes.

Check out the amazing world record attempt in the video below:

Lesco, who hails from Arizona, is a competitive eater who gorges herself speed-eating for charity. She already holds two other eating records: fastest time to eat a bowl of pasta (26.69 seconds), and the fastest time to eat a hot dog with no hands (21.60 seconds). However, for this challenge, she scarfed down a whopping 448 grams (86.35 oz) of mayonnaise in only three minutes.

Michelle first discovered her talent for speed eating after two of her friends refused to eat a burger consisting of 12 patties, 12 slices of cheese, lettuce and tomato. When she ate the whole lot herself, she discovered that she had a peculiar talent.

Commenting on her feat in a later interview with the Guinness World Records, Michelle stated: "The biggest misconception about competitive eating is that all of us are like 500 pounds and 10 feet tall. Back in the day when they first started these contests, they would pull people from the audience, and they picked people that they thought could eat the most - so I think that's where it came from."

Man, I have to say that this video might have put me off mayo for a while. At least they could have let her eat it with some bread on the side!
