A woman has claimed to have spotted her late husband who passed away in 2014 in a promotional video for an Indian restaurant - despite the eatery claiming it was filmed just two weeks ago.
Spice Cottage in West Sussex, UK, posted a video on their social media channels as they looked to promote their restaurant, serving Indian cuisine.
But it wasn't the food that got people talking, but the customers within the restaurant that intrigued viewers, who then flooded the comments.
Lucy Watson was left very confused by the video, after she claimed to have seen her late husband in the footage, despite the restaurant claiming it was filmed recently.
"How old is the footage? My late husband and his son are on the first shot and he died in 2014?", Lucy questioned, presumably taken aback.
Spice Cottage responded by saying: "Hi Lucy Watson, sorry to hear this. This footage was recorded last week [two weeks at the time of writing]."
The restaurant posted the footage with the caption: "New year, new mood! For the last few weeks, we’ve been working hard to make our dining experience even more memorable. Join us for a perfect blend of exquisite flavours, with classical and unique dishes inspired by ancient family recipes."
Facebook users are desperate to get to the bottom of things, with some even claiming that it could all be a publicity stunt by the restaurant - which if true, seems to have worked a treat.
One internet sleuth said: "Noticed the woman in question only has a few friends on her page so could more than likely just be a troll post, but I feel invested now."
A second commented: "This whole ‘Lucy’ story is a social media marketing genius move [...] how many likes and clicks is this restaurant now getting!"
There has been no update from Lucy or the restaurant about the alleged sighting of her late husband, which fuels the fire of the claim that it could all be a stunt.
A third person added their frustration at not having further information: "Nah because you really need to come back here and give the people some more information. This is a social media crime."
Amongst the Indian food-related jokes (about people spotting their late "naan" in the footage or the man in question having been in a "korma" this whole time) and claims it could all be a marketing tool, people are desperate to know the truth behind the bizarre story.
Let's hope more information comes out soon!

The internet was left confused after a woman alleged that she saw her late husband in a recently filmed promotional video for a restaurant - but it appears the case may have now been solved.
For those who aren't aware of this bizarre story - Spice Cottage in West Sussex, UK, posted a video on their social media channels as they looked to promote their restaurant, serving Indian cuisine.
The footage showed the interior of the building as happy diners tucked into their meals, with one of the patrons causing quite a stir as he could potentially have been a ghost.
Lucy Watson commented on the Facebook video, claiming that one of the diners was her late husband, Harry, who died in 2014, but the restaurant claimed the footage was only shot two weeks ago [at the time of writing].
The internet did what the internet does best and everyone gave it their best Sherlock Holmes impression to get to the bottom of this mystery.
One claimed it to be a publicity stunt by the restaurant, saying: "This whole ‘Lucy’ story is a social media marketing genius move [...] how many likes and clicks is this restaurant now getting!"
Others took it as their time to shine by throwing in jokes about it being their late "naan" in the footage, or that Lucy's husband might have been in a "korma" this entire time.
But never fear, the mystery has finally been solved!
Lucy claimed that sitting opposite her deceased husband was her son, Alex. Luckily, he spoke to the Daily Mail about the whole situation and has finally given everyone the conclusion they demanded.
After seeing the footage, Alex said: "No way. It's not my dad and it's not me. She's got it wrong. You can see from the comments that people are really intrigued about it. They really want to know the answers."
"The answer is that it's not my dad – that's it."
The restaurant was also on hand to clarify that they hadn't used footage from nine years ago, saying: "In regards to the incident regarding the Lucy Watson comment and her interview, we would like to clarify some misunderstandings.
"I run the social media side of the business and recorded a promotional video to portray our new wooden tables and interior refurbishment. The refurbishment was completed in early January 2023 and the promotional video highlights these changes. All videos used in the video were recorded w/c 9th January 2023.
"Before January 2023, all of our tables were covered by white and red cloths, henceforth it is evident this footage is recent. This is a very unusual situation and we hope this clarifies any confusion."
So there we have it, it was all a simple mistake... Though coming back from the dead for a good curry seems completely understandable.

A man who became famous for eating lunch with a picture of his late wife sadly passed away at the age of 97 after years of displaying unwavering love.
As reported by WTOC in 2017, a then 93-year-old Clarence Purvis was photographed eating at a restaurant with a picture of his late wife Carolyn.
The photo was taken in Reidsville and it quickly circulated across social media as many were touched with Clarence's dedication to his wife as he demonstrated that love never truly dies.
Clarence met Carolyn when she was 16 years old in 1948 and he swept her off of her feet. They married a year later and spent the rest of their days journeying through life together.
For the final 13 years of her life, the couple dined at Smith's Restaurant for lunch and quickly became much loved regulars.
"Ain't nobody loved one another more than me and my wife loved one another," Clarence told WTOC. "I wanted what she wanted and she wanted what I wanted."
Sadly, Carolyn passed away in 2013 but that didn't stop her husband from going for lunch with her, as he took her picture wherever he went.
On top of this, he drove to visit her grave at least four times a day, as he recounted the days he spent with his love: "Eat lunch, come back, watch television, go to bed, love one another. What more you want? Go to church. We had everything we wanted."
When asked why he dedicates so much time to his late wife, he replied: "I love her that much. And miss her that much. And think she would with me."
When he visited Carolyn's grave, Clarence dropped to his knees and said: "I love you, baby. I wish you could go home with me. Come on let's go. You can't go or you would, wouldn't you? I would stay in your place. "
Sadly, Clarence has since passed away as reported by WTOC, and his loved ones gathered to remember the man who showed that love never dies.
"He became world-known just to show his love for his wife, how much she meant to him," his daughter Dianne Knight said.
"That’s what this world needs today. The kind of love that they had for one another," Dianne continued, with his son Dale adding: "The pictures of him after momma passed, you hardly saw him smile. As opposed to when we had pictures of him before. But now he’ll be smiling all the time."
Clarence's children have found peace knowing that he has been reunited with the love of his life, and it's clear that they will be having lunch together again.

Finding a partner for life is a blessing as having a teammate who supports you through thick and thin is something that shouldn't be taken for granted.
Heading into later life is when the bickering might really start to heighten, but it just confirms the strength of a bond when even in old age, couples still put each other first.
A video is being shared online from the Chinese website Douyin that shows an 83-year-old woman sitting beside her 87-year-old husband's bedside as he passes away.
As per the South China Morning Post, during the video, the woman from the Tianjin municipality can be seen stroking her husband's hair whilst whispering her final words to him.
"Walk to the light. Don’t get lost," she encouraged her husband who lay unconscious following a battle with lung cancer. "Let go of everything. If it’s time to leave, let’s leave without regret," she finished.
As per the outlet, the touching moment was recorded by the couple's grandson, Yi. He later revealed that his grandmother remained strong throughout the day and that she wanted her husband to not suffer any longer.
Swipe to watch the heartbreaking video:Despite knowing that this would be the final time that she sat with her husband, the 83-year-old offered her long-time husband words of reassurance.
"Come home after your illness is cured. Let’s keep each other company for some more years and, at our 60th wedding anniversary, let’s ask our kids to hold a big party," she told him.
"I won’t come to visit you in the coming days. I will wait for you at home," she finished, which was enough to move everybody in the room to tears.
As per the South China Morning Post, people who viewed the video were also moved by what they had seen, as one person reportedly penned: "This is love. Despite how difficult it was for her to let go of him, she still hoped he would leave the world well."

Further proof of how powerful love is, is a recent heartbreaking story of a woman passing away just hours after attending her husband's funeral.
