As we all know, times are tough for job seekers.

One woman, however, seems to have it harder than the rest. Sophie Corcoran took to Twitter to share her anger and frustration after she was rejected for a job at KFC — and it quickly went viral.

Sophie was understandably enraged that the Durham, England, branch of KFC had turned her down, citing a lack of experience. As it turns out, she actually worked for KFC for "two and a half years".

"I can't even get a job in KFC up in Durham because 'I don't have experience' despite f***ing working at KFC for two and a half years. I give up with Durham. I want to move back home now I just want my life back [sic]," she wrote in the tweet.

The rejection letter, which had the subject of 'Team member application at Thinford KFC', read: "Hi Sophie, thank you for your application to Team KFC.

"We're cluckin' delighted you're keen to join our flock, however at this moment in time your skills aren't the secret recipe the Colonel is looking for," it read.

"But we'd love to hear from you again when you have some more experience under your wing, so please give us a cluck if you would like to apply in the future. Best wishes, Team KFC," it concluded.

Some people really didn't enjoy all the puns in the rejection letter, and deemed it to be cringe to the point of offensive.

"What a stupid response from KFC. I hate letters like this. Why don't they just get to the point and be honest instead of dressing it up. I had many negative responses from job applications when I was younger," wrote one Twitter user.

Another added: "Such a horribly mocking email. What a joke of a company."

While a third wrote: "That rejection letter is f**ked up."

KFC has since issued a response to Sophie, and justified the tone of the rejection letter.

Per The Mirror, a KFC spokesperson said: "We're sorry Sophie is disappointed she won’t be able to join the flock in Thinford, we know it's not easy being turned down for a job which is why we try to make it a little lighter when replying to our applicants.

"We'd always encourage people to reapply when another position comes available if they’re still keen to join the team."
