From macaroni to lasagne, pasta is perhaps the most adored food around the world. From the iconic Lady and the Tramp 'bella notte' scene to Buddy the Elf making his stomach-churning sugar-filled spaghetti breakfast - we are a world obsessed with pasta.

According to the book Pasta: The Story Of A Universal Food, writings about "lagana" dishes by the Roman lyric poet Horace date back to the first century AD, and now the foodstuff has evolved into a global favorite.

Like many of you, I have fond memories of sitting around the dinner table and tucking into a pasta dish, but without a doubt my favorite was 'bow tie' pasta - AKA, farfalle pasta.

Fun, tasty, and best suited to cream and tomato sauces (according to Wikipedia), bow tie pasta was a popular mid-week treat in my house. But this adorable butterfly-shaped food isn't just perfectly suited to a plate, it also makes a wonderful fashion accessory.

Created by Netherlands-based designer Rommy, she combined her love of food and fashion to create a range of products that look good enough to eat - our favorite definitely being her Farfalle Pasta Bow Tie.

Available on both her Etsy store and her official website, this unique bow tie is handmade and guaranteed to make you stand out at your next big event.

The official description reads: "Bow Tie inspired by the Italian food farfalle pasta. There is an alligator clip on the back, which means that you can clip the tie wherever you want. The Tie is made of foam in this case light and comfortable to wear."

And it doesn't just have to be worn as a bow tie. One five-star reviewer typed: "This was originally a bow tie in men collection but I just love it so much and use it as my hair clip [...] haha [...] It turned out real nice and special!"

Rommy's Etsy store currently boasts a 5/5-star rating based on 216 reviews, so you can be sure you'll be ordering a quality product from a quality seller.

The pasta-inspired bow tie is available for just 45.00 ($51 USD) from Rommy's website (be warned - the designer does have to charge "40 euros more" through her Etsy page, so suggests customers purchase through her website instead).

And while you're there, why not check out all of Rommy's mouth-watering food accessories - they truly are remarkable.
