Now, the world may seem pretty divided right now (understatement of 2020), but I'm sure we can all universally agree that pizza is without a doubt the greatest food ever created.

The endless combinations of toppings and bases mean that it is versatile. It tastes great hot or cold. And it is amazing for any meal of the day (don't pretend you've never eaten leftover pizza for breakfast).

Therefore, with so much love for the pizza pie, it is going fitting that the delicious food got to play a huge part in one couple's love story.

Deciding to forgo the ring in the champagne glass or a romantic trip to the top of the Eifel Tower, one man by the name of Walter Marano decided to pop the question with a little help from one of his girlfriend's favorite foods.

Yes, while dining out at the Italian restaurant Circolo Popolare in London, Marona, 27, had 'Will You Marry Me?' written in pizza dough across two mouthwatering pies.

There was simply no way girlfriend, Sophia Florio, 24, could have said no.

But it wasn't just Sophia's love of pizza that made Marona propose in such a unique way. The couple were scheduled to be vacationing in Italy right now, but the ongoing pandemic spoiled their plans.

As the Metro reports, the couple settled for a romantic city break away in London.

After entering the restaurant, the pair sat down and Walter ordered a shot. After a short wait, the pair were greeted with the two pizzas, and Walter took a ring out of his pocket and popped the question.

Needless to day, the stunned receptionist said yes and the restaurant burst into cheers!

Sophia later shared the news of their engagement on her Facebook page, where she captioned photos from the evening: "Ekkk! Yes yes yes".

She's said yes - now all she needs to say is "I dough" ...alright, I'll finish there.
