A 21-year-old woman has revealed that none of the teachers of her 15-year-old "child" take her seriously when it comes to parenting.

TikToker Hunter Nelson, from Kentucky - who goes by the handle @hunternelson - took to the video-sharing app to disclose her family situation.

In one of her videos - which has been viewed 8.2 million times and has 920.1K likes - a visibly stunned Hunter wrote in the overlay text: "Me driving down the road am realizing I’m 21 with a 15-year-old."

She then added: "No other parents or staff members at her [high school] are gonna take me serious," and "I can already feel people asking me what grade I’m in when I go to her events."

The viral clip was posted back in 2021 and Hunter received an outburst of questions from concerned commentators on the social media platform.

One bewildered user wrote at the time: "U WERE SIX WHEN YOU HAD A BABY?"

Another user remarked: "You can't get pregnant at 6! she's just lying about her age she's probably 30ish."

A third person commented: "I hope this is satire cause it’s not clicking for me."

However, Hunter clarified the details of her parenting predicament in a follow-up video and assured viewers that she - unsurprisingly - did not have a baby when she was six years old.

"I recently filed for guardianship of my sister a few months ago … I felt the best way to keep my sister safe, happy and to have all her needs and wants met was to come live with me," she said.

She revealed that their father passed away in 2015 and that her half-sister, Gracie, from North Carolina, also lost her mother shortly after.

Hunter then disclosed that Gracie was in danger of being placed in foster care following her mom’s death, so she selflessly petitioned the courts for guardianship of the teen as it is "100% legal".

Many commenters applauded Hunter for sharing her story, with one person writing: "You owe zero people an explanation in this world. She is family. You do what you have to for family."

Another added: "My sister took me in when I was 13, and she was 21. What you’re doing is amazing!"

However, becoming a legal guardian to her younger sister sparked some family drama as the TikToker shared a separate video about how she received death threats from Gracie's relatives because she was granted guardianship.

Hunter also admitted that the teenager protested her move for parental rights but eventually agreed. Gracie then advised people in the same situation to "put the kid’s safety and pride and necessities over their emotions".
