Casey Anthony has recently explained the images of herself dancing at various nightclubs - including footage of her taking part in a hot body contest - just 31 days after her daughter Caylee went missing in June 2008.
Casey - who was tried and acquitted for the murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee - is currently promoting a new docuseries based on her daughter's tragic death, where she maintains previous claims that her father George was responsible for Caylee's death.
The now-36-year-old suffered intense media scrutiny surrounding her odd behavior following her daughter's disappearance, especially after it took her 31 days to call 911 and report her missing, Criminal Brief detailed. After Caylee's remains were found in a car in December 2008, Casey faced a criminal trial and was subsequently acquitted of her murder in 2011.
Despite being acquitted, Casey served time for providing false information to law enforcement, per PEOPLE. Following her release, she has been residing in Florida and worked as an assistant for a criminal investigator.
Casey has continually maintained that her father George murdered Caylee to cover up the fact he had been sexually abusing her. In fact, Casey also claimed that George had been sexually inappropriate with her between the ages of eight to 12 as well.
In her upcoming docuseries - which is to be released on Peacock on November 29 - Casey has defended her behavior in the wake of her toddler's disappearance, which included partying at various nightclubs. She has insisted that the images from those nights show her working, not partying, as she was helping her club promoter boyfriend.
In fact, she even claims that George was keeping Caylee alive, holding her captive and instructing Casey to act normal and pretend everything was okay, The Daily Mail reports.
"I just tried to be as normal as I could...that was part of the main instruction from my dad - be as normal as possible. I couldn't show that there was anything going on. All of the photos that people show of me out in those 31 days, I wasn't partying. You don't see drinks in my hand. I was there actually working. I was helping Tony [the boyfriend] promote," Casey said.
"During the 31 days, I genuinely believed Caylee was alive. My father kept telling me she was OK. I just had to keep following his instructions. I just knew I had to do what he wanted me to do. Just do what he wants. It worked before, do it now. I did what I needed to do to survive," she added.
Casey also drops several bombshells in the docuseries, stating that George had come to her room while she was napping and was holding a wet, limp Caylee in his arms - presumably after the pair had been swimming in the family's pool.
"He would tell me she is fine - you guys will be reunited soon. That's what sticks with me. I would ask if he knew where she was and he would just tell me she was safe. When you're afraid of another human being and you are conditioned to do and say what they tell you to do. At the time, I wanted to believe him," Casey says in the docuseries.
"I regret every day that I didn't come forward about what he did to me. I regret every day of not telling my mom, I wish it was a simple explanation but nothing about trauma is. I was convinced she was OK until December of 2008 (when her body was found)," she continues.
