The district attorney investigating the Rust shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has said that she knows who loaded the prop gun.

On Wednesday, November 10, district attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies told Good Morning America that she knows who loaded the gun that Alec Baldwin accidentally fired during a rehearsal last month. However, she refused to disclose any names.

When asked if she knew who loaded the deadly live round, Carmack-Altwies said: "We do, yes."

Investigators have been trying to determine how the live round ended up in the prop gun, with Carmack-Altwies revealing: "We don't have an answer to that yet."

She also said multiple live rounds were found on the set during the investigation but did not reveal how many there were.

Recently, the attorney for Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who is one of the crew members at the center of the investigation, said his client is "being framed" and that the set was "tampered with" before police arrived to investigate.

Lawyer Jason Bowles said: "We eagerly await the FBI’s investigation as well and we are asking for a full and complete investigation of all of the facts, including the live rounds themselves, how they ended up in the 'dummies' box, and who put them in there.

"We are convinced that this was sabotage and Hannah is being framed. We believe that the scene was tampered with as well before the police arrived. The truth finding process demands that the District Attorney and FBI run down all of the evidence, including the nature of those live rounds."

Responding to the claims of sabotage, Carmack-Altwies said in the interview: "I know that some defense attorneys have come up with conspiracy theories and have used the word ‘sabotage’. We do not have any proof."

She continued: "It’s probably more important to focus on what led up to the shooting because the moment of the shooting, we know that at least Mr. Baldwin had no idea that the gun was loaded, so it’s more how did that gun get loaded, what levels of failure happened and were those levels of failure criminal?"
