A representative for Anne Heche has given an update on the star's condition after she drove into a home and was engulfed in flames during a catastrophic car crash last week.

According to her rep, the actor suffered a "severe" brain injury and is not expected to survive.

In a statement to TMZ, they said: "Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive."

The rep went on to say that the Donnie Brasco star put plans in place to donate her organs. "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable," they explained.

"We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital," the rep continued.

They finished with a movie tribute to the star: "Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit. More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work - especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love. She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light."

Heche, 53, was driving her Mini Cooper through a Mar Vista apartment complex in Los Angeles when she crashed into a garage last Friday (August 5). The actor then backed up and continued driving, eventually colliding with a home and igniting a serious fire. She was rushed to the hospital and was initially expected to live per multiple reports.

Best known for her 1990s roles in Donnie Brasco (1997), I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), and the 1998 remake of Psycho, the star has stayed out of the spotlight in recent years as she struggled with substance abuse issues.
