Eminem is going to be a grandfather!
The 51-year-old rapper announced on Thursday (October 3) that his daughter Hailie Jade is expecting her first baby.
But this wasn't your typical baby announcement. The 'Real Slim Shady' star - real name Marshall Mathers - revealed the news as part of a new music video for his track 'Temporary', which features Skylar Grey.
The emotional music video features a number of home video clips cut together depicting heartwarming moments from the father and daughter's lives - including moments from her recent wedding to husband Evan McClintock.
The big news from the music video came when Eminem included the moment Hailie Jade told him he was going to be a grandfather. Check out the video below:
Sitting on some steps, Hailie Jade hands her father a blue jersey, adorned with 'GRANDPA' on the back, along with the number '1'.
His mouth wide open from shock, the 'Mockingbird' star holds up a sonogram picture to the camera.
However, earlier in the video (at around the 3:00 mark), fans spotted the moment Eminem's bottom lip started to quiver, as he became incredibly emotional reading a card from Hailie Jade on her wedding day. (I was already welling up watching the moment he saw Hailie Jade in her dress for the first time - but this well and truly broke me.)
The moment was clearly too much for his fans, as they believed it was the first time they had ever seen Eminem cry. One person wrote in the comments: "Eminem crying? Now I’m crying? No you’re crying."
A second added: "Seeing Eminem crying is the most human thing I've ever seen."
"Seeing Eminem cry was it for me, now we all crying," wrote a third. "Congratulations Eminem you’ll be an amazing Grandpa."
"Dang! Seeing Eminem crying got me all crying too. What a journey. Congrats Grandpa," wrote another.
Over on Hailey Jade's Instagram, her most recent post has been flooded with congratulatory messages from fans, including one that read: "CONGRATULATIONS!!! You’re gonna be such a great mom."
"Congratulations! Best pregnancy announcement," a second added, with another adding: "I’m so happy for you. You’ll be the best mom. That music video was beautiful. Sobbing."
'Temporary' comes from Eminem's latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The track is a message to Hailey Jade from her father (he even uses her nickname 'Bean' in the song), as he reflects on his death and tells her all the things he's always wanted her to know.
Hailie Jade and Evan tied the knot back in May, after becoming engaged in February 2023.
A huge congratulations to Hailie Jade and Evan! And, of course, congratulations to Grandfather Slim.
