Evan Ellingson has tragically passed away at the age of 35.
The news was first broke by TMZ, who revealed that news of the actor's passing was confirmed by officials and Ellingson's father.
Officials from the San Bernardino County coroner's office have told TMZ that the former child star passed away on Sunday. His body was reportedly discovered in his bedroom.
TMZ adds that although the exact circumstances of Ellingson's death are currently unknown, officials have confirmed that there doesn't appear to be any foul play involved.
Speaking to TMZ, Ellingson's father, Michael, revealed that Evan was discovered found at a sober-living home after struggling with substance abuse in the past. However, the actor's passing has reportedly come as a huge shock to his family, as Ellingson was reportedly doing really well.
Born on July 1, 1988, in La Verne, California, he quickly showed a natural aptitude for the screen. His talent caught the attention of both audiences and critics alike, leading to a memorable role as Josh Bauer in the hit series 24. He would go on to appear in 10 episodes of the hit series.
Ellingson was also known for his portrayal of Kyle Harmon in 18 episodes of CSI: Miami between 2007 and 2010.
However, it was on the big screen that most people may remember Ellingson, when he starred alongside Cameron Diaz in the 2009 acclaimed movie, My Sister's Keeper. In the movie, he played Diaz's teenage son, Jesse Fitzgerald.
Despite his early success, Evan had not appeared on screen in over 10 years, according to his IMDb page.
