Heidi Klum leaves fans gagging with first look at grim Halloween costume
Heidi Klum, whose attention-consuming Halloween outfits have gone viral over the years, has given fans a stomach-churning first glimpse of her Halloween costume for 2026.
The 53-year-old supermodel, famous for going all out for spooky season, shared a close-up image on Instagram that appeared to show textured, flesh-like prosthetics ahead of her annual Halloween bash.
Klum teases new Halloween costume
Teasing her followers, Klum wrote: “What’s my costume? One week to go….#HeidiHalloween.”
The unsettling image featured several bizarre-looking creations that appeared to resemble human organs, although some fans thought the unusual textures looked more like creatures found beneath the sea’s surface.
One user speculated that the costume could involve “Sea urchins or sea cucumber or Ursula from The Little Mermaid”.
Another suggested Klum might be transforming into a Clicker, the terrifying infected creatures seen in the supernatural series The Last of Us.
Others were convinced the strange shapes looked anatomical, with one fan simply commenting: “Looks like organs.”
Someone else guessed the costume had an underwater theme, writing: “Something underwater.”
The image also prompted comparisons with The Substance, the body-horror film starring Demi Moore in which her character undergoes a disturbing physical transformation, with one particularly unsettled fan summing up their reaction by writing: “Idk but I’m gagging already.”
Klum has kept most details of her latest Halloween look under wraps, but she previously offered a small clue about what fans could expect.
Speaking to Parade in September, the model promised that her 2026 costume would be “bloody”, suggesting another elaborate transformation could be on the cards.
Klum's has become renowned for her daring Halloween fits
Her annual Halloween celebrations have become a showbiz event, and are renowned for their increasingly ambitious costumes, with Klum regularly using prosthetics, elaborate makeup and specialist costume designs to completely change her appearance.
Last year, she transformed herself into Medusa, the monstrous figure from Greek mythology, sporting green, scaly prosthetics across her face and body, a set of frightening fangs, coloured contact lenses and a headpiece covered in snakes.
The look was completed by her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, who dressed as a man turned to stone by Medusa's deadly gaze.
Klum's 2024 costume was equally elaborate, with the star enlisting several Cirque du Soleil performers to help create the illusion of an enormous peacock's tail.
Over the years, she has also become known for some particularly memorable transformations, including a costume inspired by Steven Spielberg's E.T. and her now-iconic giant worm outfit, which became an internet sensation.
Speaking to Parade about some of her favourite looks, Klum revealed that she particularly enjoyed costumes that allowed her to become almost unrecognizable.
"That’s a lot of fun. I turned myself into someone who was like 90," she said.
She also recalled the time she transformed into a towering extraterrestrial character, explaining: "I also loved being an alien. I was really kind of a robot alien. I was red with purple hair, and I was on stilts, so I was like extra tall."
The supermodel has hosted her annual Halloween party in New York City since 2000, with the event affectionately nicknamed "Heidiween".
With just days to go before this year's celebrations, fans will have to wait a little longer to discover whether Klum's latest creation resembles a sea creature, a horrifying body transformation or something even more disturbing.
