A Brazilian gospel singer has died aged 30 after he collapsed on stage during a performance.
The tragedy unfolded on Wednesday (December 13) when Pedro Henrique was performing his song 'Vai Ser Tão Lindo' at a religious event that was being streamed on social media.
Footage of the horrifying incident was obtained by TMZ and shows Henrique entertaining the crowd inside a venue in Feira de Santana. He was standing on the edge of the stage when he suddenly lost his balance and fell on his back.
According to outlets, the late musician was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Henrique's record label, Todah Music, revealed that he had suffered a massive heart attack, per Daily Mail.
"There are very difficult situations in life, for which we have no explanation," Todah Music said in a tribute post on Instagram (translated from Portuguese to English). "We just need to understand that the will of God prevails!"
The record label described the artist "as a cheerful young man, a friend to all. Only child. A present husband and a super dedicated father," adding: "There is no pastor or Christian in Brazil who says anything different. Peter is simple, he is a believer! What a smile! How nice is that! What a voice! Our kind of people who are great to have around!
"We rejoiced so many times together, and now we cry with those who cry," they continued. "The Christian music segment is mourning. Todah music family is mourning, Heaven in choir receives an illustrious son: Pedro Henrique! See you soon dear brother!!! See you all soon! May the Holy Spirit comfort you all! Amen!"
Many fans took to the comment section to share condolences. One person penned: "May God receive him with honors for what he has done here for us and comfort the [love] of his family for so much pain at this moment until soon."
Another shared: "My condolences to all the family and friends! We lost a great talent but Heaven gained," while a third added: "Such sad news! May God comfort every heart at this very difficult time."
Henrique started singing at the age of three and began performing professionally in 2015 after he shared several songs on his YouTube channel.
The late artist joined a local band and released one album titled Grande é o Senhor during his three years with the group. He then left the band in 2019 to pursue a solo career, releasing his debut single, 'Não Falhou.'
Before his untimely death, Henrique was set to debut a new project, sharing on Instagram: "Really looking forward to this release! Thank you @todamusic & @aguiarmultimusic for such an amazing project."
Henrique leaves behind a wife, Suilan Barreto, and a daughter, Zoe, who was born on October 19.
