A group of teenage boys have taken a stand against their school's sexist dress code - by wearing crop tops to class.

In a video posted to TikTok, the boys can be seen walking around school in skimpy tops, exposing their bellies - and their school's unfair policy.

Seventeen-year-old Mason Boudreau - one of the students who helped organize the protest - told Daily Dot that many students had become fed up with the biased dress code enforced by College Heights Secondary School in British Columbia.

"Girls at my high school just got dress coded for the dumbest reasons," he said, "like ripped jeans or a rip too high or wearing leggings."

Boudreau's plan was simple. He gathered a group of male students together on Snapchat, then instructed them all to come in wearing crop tops or "scandalous clothing".

If teachers didn't punish them in the same way they'd disciplined girls, the boys would have proven that their school had sexist double standards.

On the day of the protest, Boudreau cut up a T-shirt while other boys borrowed clothes from sisters and girlfriends.

"There was probably about 15 of us… and none of us got sent home," he recalled. "And we walked past the principals and they wouldn't really do much. It was really weird to see."

So far, the school's administration has yet to acknowledge the protest - though Boudreau did reveal that one teacher told him privately they thought it was a great idea.

Female students at the school were also huge fans of the protest, as were thousands of people on TikTok who were excited to see teenage boys taking a stand against sexism.

One TikTok user Solvej Wren reshared the original video posted by Boudreau alongside a clip of her praising the protest.

"This is what I'm talking about when I tell people that Gen Z is creating a world that I will be comfortable birthing a daughter into or a son into," she says. "Thank you, guys, your moms are really proud of you."

Solvej's video has racked up over 500,000 views, and over 100,000 comments. Many people left messages supporting the boys, who they saw as a beacon of hope for the future generation.

"I actually believe that Gen z boys will be the best men yet," wrote one person.
