Lara Trump has made her stance on wearing face masks clearer than ever during her appearance on Fox News last week.
The regular Fox contributor, and wife of Donald Trump's son Eric, explained that she's actually "thrilled" when her children get sick.
Her comments came in response to President Biden's CNN Town Hall where he announced that unvaccinated children and those under 12 will have to comply with a mask mandate in school.
"This is absolutely insane," Trump said, per Fox News. "As a parent, I can tell you I'm not going to be masking up my children. It is not going to happen for us."
"The idea that we're going to make our children sit in school masked up all day long I think is absolutely ludicrous," she opined.
Trump went on to complain that children are "not coming in contact with germs that they need to develop an immune system."
"My daughter, Carolina, last week had a cold," she revealed. "Every parent knows that's a nightmare. I have to tell you, I was so thrilled because I know that she is actually getting in contact with viruses and germs and bacteria that will allow her to develop an immune system."
Trump went on to cite the changing recommendations from the CDC and Dr. Fauci's guidelines on mask-wearing.
"I think it's absolutely ludicrous. First of all, we know the efficacy of masks has been long disputed. It was Dr. Fauci who, a year and a half ago, remember, told us all if it makes you feel better, wear a mask," she said.
"But we didn't have to wear masks originally. He said it wasn't going to really do anything. Then they told us masks, then they said three masks. But as it relates to kids, I mean, I can tell you it is almost impossible for my 3-year-old son to keep a mask on."
It comes as Trump last month sparked backlash after suggesting people on the southern border "arm up" and "take matters into their own hands".
Speaking to host Judge Jeanine Pirro about President Biden's response to the recent surge of immigrants seeking asylum along the US-Mexico border, the 38-year-old former television producer told Pirro:
"I don't know what you tell the people who live at the southern border.
"I guess they better arm up and get guns and be ready, and maybe they're going to have to start taking matters into their hands."
Speaking of the immigrants crossing the border, Trump - the wife of Eric Trump - then added: "These people should never make this dangerous journey here."
