A man has sadly passed away after drinking a beer that is suspected to have contained methamphetamine as he tragically uttered: "I feel like I'm dying".

Aiden Sagala, 21, reportedly sat down with a beer after finishing a day's work but - according to police - the beverage was contaminated and as a result, he began acting "possessed" after drinking it.

The incident occurred on March 2 as his sister Angela explained that although he wasn't much of a drinker, he decided to open a beer that his co-worker had given him.

Angela told Newshub that she dropped Aiden at home as she went off to get dinner, but received a panicked phone call from her partner after her brother consumed the beer.

Angela recalled that she could hear her brother crying out for his mother in the background of the phone call, which alerted her that something had gone very wrong.

"I feel like I'm dying," Angela recalled Aiden saying to her as she found him acting "possessed" with a high temperature.

"He was shaking and his actions weren’t normal. He was sitting here in the lounge, he dropped to the ground and that’s when his episode happened. An episode we later found out wasn’t a seizure but that he had meth in his system," Angela said.

Angela administered CPR to her brother while they waited for an ambulance to arrive but the 21-year-old sadly lost his life five days later in Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand.

"He died as a hero and that’s what we want to make sure people understand. If it weren’t for Aiden, this wouldn’t have been out in public and the police wouldn’t have known the alcohol had meth in it," Angela said.

"We are devastated that he’s gone but he saved our lives and I will always remember that and the memories that we shared and had with him."
