Following Jeremy Renner's "weather-related accident", Mark Ruffalo has urged fans to pray for his Avengers co-star.

The 51-year-old actor, best known for his portrayal of Hawkeye alongside Ruffalo's Hulk in the Marvel series, was involved in an incident near his home in Northern Nevada, which left him in a "critical but stable" condition.

After it was reported that a winter storm hit the area on New Year's Eve leaving 35,000 people without power, Renner, who is a lover of high-tech machinery, used his own snow plow to help remove the snow around his secluded home.

Shortly after, he was airlifted to the nearest hospital due to a "weather-related incident, " according to a report by Just Jared.

At the time, Kristin Vietti, a public information officer released a statement confirming the news.

"Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital," Vietti said. "Mr. Renner was the only involved party."

A representative of Renner also released a statement on behalf of the Mission Impossible star, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he was "in critical but stable condition."

"We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today.

"His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care," they added.

Now, his co-star Mark Ruffalo has spoken out.

Taking to Instagram Stories, the 55-year-old reposted a news update via Entertainment Tonight alongside a caption urging fans to pray for his "brother".

"Prayers up for our brother on a full and speedy recovery," he wrote. "Please send healing goodness his way."

Speaking to TMZ, a neighbor reportedly told the outlet that Renner's plowing vehicle - better known as a 'Snowcat' - ended up running over one of his legs, which led to substantial blood loss in the area.

Another neighbor, who happened to be a medical professional, also witnessed the incident and helped apply a tourniquet to Renner’s leg to help with the excessive bleeding.

A different source then claimed to the outlet that the actor‘s injury is "extensive" and "along with his leg, other parts of his body have been injured."

According to TMZ, there is currently an investigation surrounding the incident and the snow plow has been taken into the possession of authorities for further examination.

Our prayers are with Renner and his family during this incredibly difficult time. We hope he has a speedy recovery.
