A CEO has certainly raised some eyebrows after she told her staff who were worried about their bonuses to "leave pity city" - despite reportedly receiving a package of $5 million herself last year.

Andi Owen, the boss of office furniture company MillerKnoll has been left pretty red-faced after a leaked video of her berating her employees circulated online.

The CEO was using her virtual town hall meeting to encourage employees to hit their sales target, and things started off in a calm manner.

But when she got onto the topic of bonuses, things took a dramatic turn as she began to raise her voice and scold her staff for having the audacity to worry about the money that will pay their bills and feed their families amid a cost of living crisis.

Watch the leaked clip below:

"The most important thing we can do right now is focus on the things we can control," Owen began, which included good customer service and treating each other well.

"It's not good to be in the situation we're in today, but we're not going to be here forever. It is going to get better, so lead by example, treat people well, talk to them, be kind, and get after it.

"Don't ask about, what are we going to do if you don't get a bonus? - Get the damn $26 million!"

As reported by the Daily Mail, the $26 million that she is referring to is an internal metric within the furniture company.

Owen continued: "Spend your time and your effort thinking about the $26 million we need and not thinking about what you're going to do if you don't get a bonus!

"All right? Can I get some commitment for that? I would appreciate that."

In case your blood isn't boiling enough right now, the millionaire CEO decided to end the call with an anecdote about a former boss of hers.

"I had an old boss who said to me one time, you can visit Pity City but you can’t live there," Owen proudly said. "So people - Leave Pity City. Let’s get it done. Thank you, have a great day."

Everybody loves to be lectured by a millionaire about money from time to time, right? Well, to make this even more rage-inducing, it is reported that Owen still pocketed a $1.2 million bonus in 2022 on top of her $1.1 million annual salary and a further $2.7 million in stock awards.

The CEO has since set her Instagram account to private and she was bombarded with comments from angry viewers of the leaked clip.

As reported by CNN, a spokesperson for MillerKnoll has stated that the staff's bonuses have not yet been decided for this year, including Owen's.

While stating that the short clip from a 75-minute meeting was taken out of context, Kris Marubio, a spokesperson for the company said: "Andi fiercely believes in this team and all we can accomplish together, and will not be dissuaded by a 90-second clip taken out of context and posted on social media."
