Tuesday was a very lucky day for one North Carolina family.
In an unlikely twist of fate, new mom Aberli Spear welcomed her baby daughter Judah Grace Spear on February 22, 2022 (2/2/22), at 2.22AM on the dot.
Crazier still, little Judah was born in delivery room No. 2.
The Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center shared the unlikely news in a Facebook post on Tuesday - or as it has been dubbed on social media because of the unique date, 'twosday'.
"Today is an extra special 'twos-day' for this newborn and her family!" they wrote. "Judah Grace Spear was born on 2/22/22 at 2:22 a.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center – in labor and delivery room 2!"
The treatments for Hodgkin's lymphoma - which include chemotherapy and radiation therapy - make it harder to conceive children, meaning Aberli and her partner Hank Spear were not overly optimistic about their chances of starting a family.
But despite all this, little baby Judah was born in what the hospital described as an answer to her family's prayers.
"Baby Judah is an answered prayer for her family," Cone Health wrote. "Mom Aberli is a Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor, and the necessary cancer treatments she went through made pregnancy unlikely. But the family continued to pray for a little one – and today their prayer was answered!"
They went on to talk about the unique meaning of Judah's name, and why it was the perfect fit for the lucky baby.
"Judah Grace’s name fits her story perfectly. Judah means 'praise' – and she is a blessing for her family!" they wrote, before finishing off the Facebook post by wishing her a happy birthday.
"We are so happy for this sweet family! Happy birthday, Judah Grace!"
According to the National Weather Service, there won't be another '2/22/22' on a Tuesday until the year 2422, which means that the next 'twosday' is over four centuries away.
